SWIMMING – WOMEN’S 200M fly, flash quotes and clip

Franziska Hentke, winner of Women’s 200m… by lentv

Gold medal

Franziska Hentke, Germany, 2:07.23

“I’m not really happy with the time but this was a very tough race and at the end I won the gold. I swam here in the middle of the toughest trainings and the result shows me that I am on the right way. This gives me extra motivation that I’m on the right track to Rio.”

Silver medal

Liliana Szilagyi, Hungary, 2:07.24

“Considering that I almost quitted swimming a couple of months ago, this is a brilliant result. Finally I could concentrate on myself and not on the expectations of the outside world and this is the outcome. I virtually won the race, it’s a bit ironic to lose by 0.01sec when you are leading all the way but if this should happen, let it happen here and not in Rio. I’m the second best in Europe and this makes me extremely happy.”

Bronze medal

Judit Ignacio Sorribes, Spain, 2:07.52

“It was a great race for me, I qualified for the Olympics. Over the first 100m I made a lot of speed and that hit back a bit in the second leg.”
