LEN  Open Water Cup leg 2 – Eilat 2016

LEN Open Water Cup – Leg 2, was conducted for the eighth year in the gulf of the Red Sea in Eilat, Israel.

This year the competition was attended by representatives from 11 countries competed in the 10 k race. Israeli swimming association had already proved good organizational skills and the natural conditions of the Gulf assisted to produce a very high level competition for enjoy of all participants.

Polish national team swimmers who trained in Eilat for a week took advantage of the opportunity and won two places. Italianwomen also won two of the three places on the podium.

Petros Arestis (Cyprus), which came as the LEN delegate expressed his admiration commandments of volunteers and hospitality level of Eilat city.

The safety delegates of open water committee (Secretary Sam Greetham and the local Hadar Ben-Dror) took advantage of the opportunity to organize a rescue exercise, with the Eilat’s lifeguards, the marine police and the safety officer of the competition – Zeev Atzmon,  for example and upcoming workshops
