Tamas Gyarfas

Gyarfas_TamasMr Gyárfás has been President of the Hungarian Swimming Association since 1993. When younger, he was a premier league water polo player and a member of the Hungarian national junior water polo team. Since then his career has been in journalism and the media and from 2010, he has been Editor in Chief of the FINA Aquatics World magazine. In 1989 he became owner and President of NAP TV, Hungary’s first privately owned television company. Also, since 1989, he has been Chief Executive of the newspaper Sport Plusz and Editor in Chief of the LEN magazine from 2007 until the present.

  • Chairman of the Organising Committee of the European Swimming, Diving, Synchronised and Open Water Swimming Championships of 2006 and 2010 in Budapest, the 2012 Championships in Debrecen and of the Short Course Championships in Debrecen in 2007
