LEN for UNICEF

LEN for UNICEF is a solidarity programme jointly implemented between the “Ligue Europeene de Natation” (LEN) and the United Nations Children Funds (UNICEF)

LEN, UNICEF, and their respective National affiliated members (UNICEF National Committees and National Swimming Federations, amongst which the Finnish Swimming Association, French Swimming Federation, Hungarian Swimming Association, Italian Swimming Federation, Luxembourg Swimming and Life-saving Federation, Turkish Swimming Federation) taking part within the frame of this programme, are promoting Safe Water and Sanitation at international (on LEN events), national and local levels (national and local initiatives such as “La Nuit de l’Eau” – www.lanuitdeleau.com – implemented in France), and financing solidarity operations.

Togo project

Togo project (currently benefiting from funds raised and also part of the UNICEF WASH programme – www.unicef.org/wash/): improvement of the children’s health and educational conditions within the Savannes Region (North). Examples of facilities built:
  • New ecological latrines blocks (for girls and boys)
  • New tanks (50m3) to capture rainwater
  • Drinking Water Posts
  • Hand washing facilities

Thanks to the specific LEN for UNICEF support, around 1.600 children and 4.000 community members benefiting from Water and Sanitation.
