LEN Learn to Swim Programme

As the European governing body for aquatic sports, LEN believes aquatics to be both a sport and an activity that is both fun and extremely healthy. One of our most important strategic goals is to promote quality swim programmes throughout Europe. We strongly believe that all members of society have access to the life skill that is swimming, regardless of their age, gender, disability, or ethnicity.

For this reason, LEN has a dedicated Learn to Swim Commission which has been working for some time to understand the challenges of learning to swim across Europe and have developed a LEN Learn to Swim Framework as a best practice guideline for teaching the life skill that is swimming.

This inaugural LEN Learn to Swim Conference is taking place on 11 & 12 November in Jurmala, Latvia and will be a platform for launching the Framework but is also much more than that. We are bringing together practitioners from across Europe to share knowledge and practice, to learn from lived experience, to showcase innovations and most of all to break down barriers. Our combined efforts will not only reduce drownings but nurture our future talent and improve the opportunities for our children to learn the life skill of swimming.
