LEN is delighted to reveal key details about the European Junior Swimming Championships which will take place in Belgrade, Serbia, from 4-9 July 2023.
The six-day championships will be located in the sports and recreational centre ‘Milan Gale Muškatirović, with heat swims beginning at 10am and finals from 5pm (local, CEST) each day.
It is the second time the city has hosted the competition, after staging a highly successful event in the summer of 2011.
The event saw Serbian swimmer Velimir Stjepanović claim 100m freestyle and 100m butterfly titles before going on to win senior European and World medals in 2014.
“Serbia has been a proud sports nation for many years,” writes Serbian Swimming Federation President Boris Brobac. “It is our great pleasure and honour to be hosting such an event like LEN European Junior Swimming Championships again after 12 years.”

Belgrade 2011 also saw significant breakthrough performances from Gregorio Paltrinieri (Italy), Siobhan-Marie O’Connor (Great Britain), Louise Hansson (Sweden) and Charlotte Bonnet (France), who would follow up European junior golds there with major senior successes in the following years.
“It is our hope that all the teams shall bring back good memories and results from the championships and we hope that everyone will enjoy their state in our capital,” continued Brobac.
