LEN reveals new Champions League Women logo

LEN is delighted to reveal the logo for the newly branded Champions League Women tournament, which will launch with the first qualification round – 17-20 November.

The premier women’s European club water polo competition was established in 1987 and known until 1999 as the ‘LEN European Cup’. 14 years as the LEN Champions Cup followed before switching to its most recent form – as the LEN Euro League Women in 2013.

Revising the title to the Champions League Women brings the competition in line with the men’s leading European club water polo competition, which has run since 1963 and took on its existing name in 2011.

“LEN is proud to have a number of cup competitions for water polo and as part of our strategic review we are pleased now to rebrand the Champions League for women so it’s presented on the same level as the men’s competition,” said LEN President Antonio Silva.

“With the rising talent and sports development of women’s teams around Europe this is an exciting time for the sport.”
