Britain’s Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix claimed her first FINA World Junior Diving Championship title with an impressive performance in the 10m platform final on the penultimate day of competition in Montreal, Canada.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed an astounding 18 months, following up her impressive seventh place finish at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, with a breath-taking ‘break through’ season.
During 2022 the diver has claimed two senior European and Commonwealth titles as well as a World Team Event bronze and several prestigious awards.

Spendolini-Sirieix rounded off her year in Montreal where the Olympian was aiming to claim a first, but also last World Junior Diving title before she became too old.
Although second after the preliminaries, the Briton showed her true class in the 10m final and her overall total of 460.15 saw her finish clear of Canada’s early leader Renée Batalla (427.90) and Sofia Knight of Australia (403.75), who took bronze.
“In the final, I was pumped and ready,” Spendolini-Sirieix told Fina. “I wanted it, so I went for it and I’m really happy with the way I dove.
“It’s my first and my last junior Worlds and actually my last junior competition, so to finish it on that is amazing.”
